A resident with dementia pushes open an exit door. Every staff phone knows in seconds.
Wandering is one of the most serious risks in memory care, and the hardest to catch. A resident who should not leave walks toward an exit the same way anyone else does. By the time a door alarm sounds, they are already through it, and the alarm tells the nearest person that something happened without telling them who or where.
LANgineers Elopement Alerts is a standalone system. A camera at each exit recognizes the residents you have enrolled as at risk, and our own sensor on the door knows when it is being opened. The alert fires only when both are true: an enrolled resident, and the door actually opening. Every staff phone gets it in seconds.
The system does not connect to your door alarms, your locks, or any other vendor’s wander equipment, and we do not modify them. It runs on its own cameras, its own door sensors, its own network connection, and our staff app. Whatever else you have keeps doing what it does; this adds a layer of identification and reach on top, with no dependencies in either direction.
No resident is named in any notification, by design and in adherence with California Title 22. No image is sent to staff phones. Recognition happens on the camera; what leaves it is an alert with an encrypted identifier. Enrollment is done by your staff, and only your staff hold the key to what the identifiers mean.
Facial recognition is a high-confidence identification tool, not a guarantee. The alert says an enrolled resident appears to have opened a specific exit. The trained staff member who responds makes the final call. We are not replacing human judgment. We are putting better information in their hands, faster.
The same staff app and phones carry our fall detection alerts from resident rooms. One app, one set of phones, both systems.
